Methods From February 2010 to February 2016, a total of 13 patients with symptomatic thoracic VH were treated with PVP via target puncture in our hospital and they were enrolled in this retrospective study. This study involved 10 males and 3 females, with mean age of (55.0±9.6)years. There were 8 cases of single thoracic VH, and 5 cases of multiple vertebral hemangiomas. All the cases were diagnosed with VH by postoperative pathological examination. Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) scores were used to assess the operative results. Results All the patients were followed up not less than 12 months and their back pain was significantly improved after treatment. The VAS and ODI scores were significantly improved in all the patients 24 hours, 3 months and 12 months after the operation(P<0.05). A slight leakage of bone cement occurred beside vertebras in 2 cases without clinical symptoms and special treatments. There were no complications in the other patients. Conclusion PVP via target puncture is a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment method of symptomatic thoracic vertebral hemangioma, especially for relieving the pain. %R 10.3969/j.issn.1674-3806.2018.11.16 %U http://www.zglcxyxzz.com/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx %1 JIS Version 3.0.0
