Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To explore the clinical effect and aesthetic value of coronally advanced flap and laterally poitioned flap restoration applied to defect after epulis resection. Methods A total of 60 patients with epulis were selected in our hospitals from August 2015 to July 2017 and received periodental non-surgical treatment and epulis resection by coronally advanced flap and laterally positioned flap according to the conditions of gingival defects. The clinical effect and aesthetic value were evaluated according to the gingival margin, gingival papilla and modified sulcus bleeding indexes. Results Among the 60 patients with epulis, 18 cases received laterally poitioned flap, and 42 cases received coronally advanced flap. No recurrence was found after a follow-up of 12 months and the various indexes were satisfying. Conclusion Coronally advanced flap and laterally poitioned flap has satisfactory clinical effect and aesthetic value on restoring the defects after epulis resection.
