Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To research the prevention effect of different medication on mother-to-infant transmission of HIV.Methods Seventy-three HIV-positive pregnant women were chosen. Of them, 26 women were treated by the Nevirapine tablet from 2005 to 2007 (scheme 1),and 47 women were treated by the combined application of triple antiviral drug from 2008 to 2010 (scheme 2). Their infants were follow up for 18 months. All the infants were used artificial feeding. Results There was no deformity infant within the two schemes. There were 2 HIV-positive infants in scheme 1.(One infant was from the group that the mathers and the infants were both treated, and the other infant was from the group that only the infants were treated). There was only 1 HIV-positive infant in scheme 2.(The infant was from the group that only the infants were treated). All the other infants were negative in scheme 2 in which the mathers and the infants were both treated. Conclusion To take comprehensive intervention measures in the HIV-positive pregnant women is an effective way to block the mother-to-infant transmission of HIV. The measures include treating by antiviral drug and artificial feeding.
