Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To observe the clinical effects of high-doses of vitamin C combination with dexamethasone in the treatment of oropharyngeal ulcers after radiotherapy. Methods Oropharyngeal ulcer patients(n=62) of nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy were randomly divided into the control group(n=31) and the treatment group(high-dose vitamin C+dexamethasone)(n=31). The control group was treated with conventional medication. The treatment group was treated with vitamin C 3 000 mg by intravenous injection(10 mg/d)+dexamethasone 10 mg in 0.9%Nacl 250 ml by intravenous drip on the basis of the same treatment in the control group, 1 time per day, 7 days for a period of treatment. Methods The effective rate was 96.77% and 61.29% in the treatment group and the control group respectively. There was significant difference in curative effect between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Highdose of vitamin C combination with dexamethasone is effective in the treatment of oropharyngeal ulceration after radiotherapy.
