Abstract: |
[Abstract] Objective To compare the clinical efficacy between the breast conserving surgery and the modified radical mastectomy in the treatment of breast cancer. Methods One hundred and forty-seven women with breast cancer from June 2011 to May 2014 were analyzed retrospectively.According to the different surgery methods, they were divided into two groups. The observation group(n=78) was treated with the breast conserving surgery and the control group(n=69) was treated with modified radical mastectomy. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss and length of hospital stay, breast aesthetics and postoperative follow-up results were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time, blood loss and postoperative hospital stay in the observation group were obviously less than those in the control group(P<0.05); The breast aesthetics in the observation group was obviously better than that in the control group(P<0.05); There were no significant differences in the incidence, local recurrence rate and metastasis rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The breast conserving surgery is better than modified radical mastectomy in the treatment of breast cancer. It has less surgical trauma, faster recovery and better breast aesthetics. |
