Clinical curative effect of montelukast sodium combined with azithromycin on the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children
Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To explore the clinical curative effect of montelukast sodium combined with azithromycin on the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children. Methods 46 children with mycoplasma pneumonia were randomly divided into the research group and the control group, the control group received azithromycin treatment alone, and the research group was treated with montelukast sodium plus azithromycin. Both of the two groups maintained 2~3 course of treatment. The drug effects were evaluated according to the symptom signs and laboratory indexes. Results In the research group, 6 cases were cured, 11 cases markedly improved, 5 cases effective and 1 case ineffective. In the control group, 3 cases were cured, 7 cases markedly improved, 7 cases effective and 6 cases ineffective. The clinical effect of the research group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05). The disappearance time of clinical symptoms and signs in the research group was significantly shorter than that in the control group. The average hospital stay was significantly shorter in the research group than that in the control group. There was no significant difference in C-reactive protein(CRP) between the two groups before the treatment. The levels of CRP after the treatment were significantly lower than those before the treatment in both of the two groups(P<0.05). The complication rate of the research group was significantly lower than that of the control group(8.70% vs 34.78%)(P<0.05).Conclusion Montelukast sodium combined with azithromycin therapy can improve the curative effect for the children with mycoplasma pneumonia.
