Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To observe the curative effect of biofeedback combined with mosapride in treatment of slow transit constipation(STC).Methods 108 patients with STC were randomly divided into group A(n=38), group B(n=33) and group C(n=37). Group A received biofeedback in combination with mosapride; Group B received mosapride plus virtual biofeedback; Group C was treated with biofeedback plus placebo. The curative effects were compared among the three groups 4 weeks after treatment. Results The three differentnt regimens were effective to improve the patients′ clinical symptoms and elevate their colon discharge rates. The curative effect of group A was superior to that of group B or group C(χ2=12.914, P=0.002).The number of colon discharge in group A was larger than that of group B or group C(P<0.05).Conclusion Biofeedback combined with mosapride is more effective in treatment of STC than a single treatment of mosapride or biofeedback therapy. It can obviously accelerate the colon emptying and is worthy of expanding further study.
