Abstract:
[Abstract] Dental erosion due to gastroesophageal reflux disease refers to irreversible softening and demineralization destruction of dental hard tissues induced by non-bacterial acidification after gastric contents reflux into the oral cavity. The consistency and accuracy of clinical diagnosis of the disease are unsatisfactory. Dental erosion due to gastroesophageal reflux disease is closely related to bruxism, and their synergistic effect can destroy the whole dentition. In consideration of the progressive nature of the disease, early intervention and protection of the integrity of tooth structure are emphasized. In this paper, the research progress in etiology, diagnosis and treatment of dental erosion due to gastroesophageal reflux disease is reviewed.
