Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To study the effects of irbesartan, hydrochlorothiazide and amlodipine combined with metoprolol in the treatment of refractory hypertension. Methods Eighty patients with refractory hypertension were divided into the observation group(n=40) and the control group(n=40) according to the principle of voluntary. The control group received the treatment of irbesartan, hydrochlorothiazide and amlodipine. The treatment in the observation group was the same as that in the control group except that metoprolol was added. Results In the observation group, 35 cases were markedly effective; 5 cases effective; No cases ineffective. In the control group, 27 cases were effective; 9 cases effective; 4 cases ineffective. The clinical effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group(0.00%) was significantly lower than that in the control group(30.00%)(P<0.01).Conclusion Irbesartan in conjunction with hydrogen chlorine thiophene hydrochlorothiazide and amlodipine combined with metoprolol is safe and effective in the treatment of refractory hypertension.
